“The past affects the present even without our being aware of it.” -Francine Shapiro
I work with adults navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety and panic, childhood wounds and attachment issues, grief and loss, low self-esteem and shame, depression, life transitions, and feeling “stuck” You don’t need to have a clear diagnosis or a single defining event to begin therapy. Many clients come in simply knowing something doesn’t feel right—and that’s enough.
Our work together will move at a pace that feels manageable for you. You can expect a nonjudgmental space, tools to manage distress, gentle exploration of past experiences when you’re ready, and a focus on insight and real change. We will check in regularly to make sure the work feels supportive, not overwhelming. My goal is to help you feel safer in your own mind and body, with greater clarity, resilience, and self-trust.
EMDR is effective in treating "everyday" memories that can cause low self-esteem, feelings of hopelessness, and anxiety as well as effectively treating traumatic experiences. When something distressing happens, the brain doesn't always fully process the experience. It can become "stuck," showing up later as anxiety, emotional reactivity, or physical tension. EMDR helps the brain reprocess painful memories, making them feel less intense and more distant. The goal isn't to erase the past—but to free you from being controlled by it.
